Cookbook: You Can Help!
China Care Bruins and Families with Children from China are joining together for a cookbook fundraising project! We are hoping that this cookbook will not only include traditional Chinese recipes, but also easy recipes for kids to try, craft-making instructions, interesting family stories associated with a certain dish, and pictures of food and people!! It is extremely important that we collect all these recipes and stories so that we can begin putting the cookbooks together, selling them, and making this project a success. All the proceeds from the cookbook will go to fund China Care Foundation surgery proposals or to orphanages in China.
Thus, the China Care Bruins Fundraising Committee would like to ask each member to please bring at least one recipe to the March 2nd (Sunday event). If you are unable to bring the recipe this Sunday or if you’d like to contribute even more recipes in the future, you can also e-mail the recipes and stories to us. This recipe can be a family recipe or a recipe that you actually use. We would prefer that the recipes be somehow related to Chinese culture, but anything that you can contribute would be fine.
We are trying to make the this cookbook a collaborative effort with all the China Care Bruins members, so only with your help can we make this cookbook a success. This is your chance to contribute! Remember: one person and one small action can make a huge difference in the lives of Chinese orphans.
Your help is much appreciated!
Fundraising Committee
Here is a great opportunity for those who want to make a difference in the lives of the Chinese orphans, especially for those who cannot participate in the mentorship program. This year, we are proudly establishing a fundraising committee that will meet twice a month to discuss fund raising projects and develop organizational strategy. This is a great chance for all of you who want to bring your creative ideas and actively participate in China Care Bruins. China Care Bruins will hear all proposed ideas and will endorse and assist on approved ideas whether they are done in groups or independently.
For China Care Bruins, fund raising is as important as mentoring. With all your help, we will be able to improve the quality and conditions of the lives of those most vulnerable. Funds raised will be directed to the medical needs of the children and to assist orphanages with daily expenses so that they can remain operational.

Thanks to generous donors, we were able to raise money last year for the following:

- $730 to Sai Qi orphanage via the China Care Foundation
Thank you for your support!

You can join us in raising money to help Chinese orphans just by using GoodSearch.com as your search engine. Choose “UCLA – China Care Bruins” as your charity, and every search you do will contribute one cent to our cause.
Also, three percent of all purchases made through GoodShop.com will be donated to our cause as well.
GoodSearch.com is powered by Yahoo, so you still get quality search results.

We are currently raising money to help support the SaiQi Orphanage in the Fujian province of China. China Care Bruins is working in conjunction with Harvard China Care and Emory China Care to ensure that the children in this orphanage are given the proper medical attention, nutritional food, education, and additional care. Our goal is to raise $3,000 by April to cover operational costs.

If you are interested in donating to this extremely important cause, please e-mail . Also, China Care is fortunate to have an extremely generous executive board that covers all overhead charges so ALL proceeds go to the children!!
If you would like to send a donation, please write a check to China Care Foundation and include China Care Bruins in the memo line. The check can be mailed to:
