Fundraising 2007-2008

In the 2007-2008 academic year, China Care Bruins raised over $2,000 by selling gently used clothing and toys in a neighborhood yard sale. In addition, we made over $800 in profit from selling fresh food for UCLA students on campus. In total, we were able to raise $4,645 to pay for the following FIVE surgeries: For Ming, a thirteen year old boy with ear problems to have corrective myringoplasty surgery; for Tao, a two year old boy with hydrocephalus to have a shunt inserted; for Qi, a fifteen month old boy to have his cleft palate repaired; for Jun, a two year old boy to have his cleft palate repaired; and Na, a six month old girl to have her cleft lip repaired. All the surgeries have since been successfully completed and gave these orphans a new hope in life! We all hope that one day, each will be adopted into a loving, permanent home.
